Shantanu Moitra brings a new life into soul of Madras Cafe.
His compositions are very mild and soft on ears, but powerful at the same time.

The Album kicks off with Maula sun le re, sung by Papon.A soft outing by Papon which is similar to his Jiyein Kyu.

The next song Ajnabee is sung by debutant Zen, who has also written its lyrics. The pensive song sticks to the theme of the soundtrack.

Though the song is easy on ears, one does feel that for a film like Madras Cafe -- which is expected to be a fast paced action drama -- songs like Sun Le Re and Ajnabee are better kept short so that the narrative isn't impacted.
 Khud Se has Papon returning, it is a song which has a sad beginning to it but sounds interesting as it progresses. One can sense a trademark Shantanu Moitra touch here in the way this song is composed. This song is the best of the lot.

The way the song has been designed, with a good voice and lyrics (Manoj Tapadia), makes it the kind you want to listen to again and again.

The whole soundtrack is a bit unusual, but fails to cater to the theme of Madras Cafe, a racy spy thriller. It could have done with atleast one fast paced number to increase the heart rates of the viewers watching the movie.

AAJ KA GANESHOTSAV

Ganeshotsav nowdays has become more of a showoff events between various pandals and political parties... rather then what Tilak had envisioned. It has become a pure commercial purpose event. After visarjan, each pandal will brag about the amount of offerings...people can offer 25kg gold to a plaster of paris idol, but they will not donate 25 k rs. to a hospital or orphanage..

इन सब लोगों पे कर लगना चाहिए और आयकर विभाग वालों को ऐसे पंडलों पर छापा डालना चाहिए... लोग इतनी आस्था ग़रीबो की मदद या उनके भले में क्यों नही लगते....

उसपर भक्त जो ६-७ घंटे लाइन में खड़े रहकर दर्शन के लिए व्याकुल रहते हैं, उनके भेद बकरियों की तरह से दर्शन कराए जाते हैं...

जो राज ठाकरे और उद्धव ठाकरे परप्रांतियो को लेकर इतना बवाल मचाते फिरते हैं, उनके ही कार्यकर्ता उन प्रांत के गाने बजाते है.
और गाने भी आइटम सॉंग जो गणेशजी की भक्ति में बजाते हैं, हलकट जवानी , मुन्नी बदनाम , अपदी पोदे , भोजपुरी गाने यह सब फुल आवाज़ में बजाए जाते है , दिन रात गणेशोत्सव के नाम पे बिना किसी की परवाह किए...
जानवरों की तो छोड़ो, इंसानो की भी नही सोचते....

Also the noise pollution, even Ganpati would put cotton in his ears listening to hindi,tamil and bhojpuri item numbers on full vol 24 x 7 to which no proud marathi political party or person objects... none...

इतने सब शोर शराबे में भक्ति कहाँ से आएगी?

देख तेरे संसार की हालत क्या हो गयी भगवान.... कितना बदल गया इंसान... :)
